Social Security

Dear George:

Social Security ills have been caused by borrowing from the fund. Collect the IOU's and the problem would disappear. Stop supporting any programs other than Social Security from its fund. Cut the benefits to immigrants and to people who do not want to work. Social Security was designed as a retirement supplement for the elderly and the children up to age 23 if a parent precedes them in death. That benefit has been reduced to 18 for children or graduation from high school.

It amazes me that we show more compassion to foreign countries and immigrants than we do for the support of the American businesses, families, soldiers and abandoned youth.

Our financial policies and spending are out of control. There is no accountability and no respect for the people who are footing the bill.

Please do not send me a canned response. It is just representative of what I am talking about government (who really gives a rip) blah, blah, blah)

Just do what is right for a change.

Compassionate conservatism

Dear George:

You have been through some tough times. Probably the toughest in history. I want you to know that I am a converted democrat who agrees with your compassionate conservative platform. You are leading our country in the right direction. One day the Democrats will understand that.

It took them some time to catch up to the civil rights movement and it will take them some time to catch up with the democracy movement we are spreading across the world. Yes, I know that democracy is not for everyone. Just look at our country. But, it is best to have the opportunity than to not. And with compassionate conservatism all facets of our population will benefit. Please fix social security and pass a flat tax program.
