Get off your ass and do something

Dear George:

Maybe you didn’t see it flying over at 40,000 feet but there are people dying in New Orleans. I know you are busy having lunch with Alan Greenspan to discuss the “economic impact” of Hurricane Katrina but maybe you could get off your ass and do something?

For instance, fill air force one with bottled water and fly to New Orleans? And when you get there start filling sandbags? Please do something for god’s sake if not for the people of New Orleans' sake. People are dying from dehydration and you are eating lunch with Al? Yesterday you were playing the guitar in Colorado? Is this the response we get from a government which has spent the last four years and untold billons preparing for disasters? If terrorists had blown the levees with high explosive would you have been quicker to respond?
