The vote on Tuesday clearly reflected the hatred felt for you and your administration. You have spent us into oblivion, killed thousands of our young in a war that you personally created, and have displayed an arrogant, I am holier than thou attitude towards anyone or anything you disagree with. Well, now you see where this lousy attitude has gotten you. You are the direct cause of all the losses the Republican Party experienced on Tuesday.

You will go down in history as a terrible president...you're a loser!

Hanging Saddam

Dear George:

Sentencing Saddam to hang may represent justice, but it does not make good political or strategic sense. The Sunni position that this was U.S. orchestrated,true or false,will continue to be believed.

Hanging Saddam will make him a martyr and a cause which will cost many American and Iraqi lives for years. Our U.S. Government should publicly urge the Iraqi Appellate Court to commute his sentence to life imprisonment.

He would thus soon fade as a cause and we will gain by urging justice tempered with mercy (although I personnally feel that life imprisonment is the harsher alternative). Have I an axe to grind? You bet. My career Navy grandson is on his 4th Middle East deployment and likely to see additional service there. I much prefer to see his commissioning that his funeral.

As a historian, I have difficulty determining who had the greatest influence on you. Your rise to the presidency and consolidation of power closely paralleled Adolph Hitler.

However, your policies, such as spying on your own people, disappearing people, a gulag of secret prisons, executions, one-party rule, intimidated and obedient media most closely resembles Joseph Stalin.

I have concluded that Stalin is the person you most admire and try to immitate. Am I correct?

A Plan, Stated Strongly

Dear President Bush,

As a staunch supporter, please, please take the attention away from Ex-Congressman Foley and place it where it should be. As President of the USA, I would plead with you today, to take control of the situation in Korea and Iran. Please within the week have our plan stated strongly in regards to Korea. This will hopefully get a strong message to Iran. Iran and the world need to know that we are totally aware that we know that Iran is messing things up in Iraq and we won't stand for it any longer!! The havock and hell in Iraq has gone on for far to long!! Iran can not be allowed to mess up the war that we have fought so hard and long for. Iraq deserves more. I had part of a delegation of Iraqi women in my home in Salt Lake City for almost one week and they all remarked of how they and all educated people of Iraq so appreciated the help of the United States over there. Please do WHATEVER it takes. My prayers are certainly with you and our country. Do whatever we need to do to take control of these evil men and women in these two countries.

The disgust I feel for your veto of Stem Cell research is beyond any way of expressing. To say that you are the worst president ever is so mild. Perhaps it comes clear when you think of that little strutting man who wants to be remembered at all costs. Removing hope for thousands of people suffering from a terrible illness is a heartless way of doing so.

Never fear that you will not be remembered, not only as a bad president, but a thoroughly incompetent occupant of the White House. A person that has defiled the office of the presidency.

Transfer one life to another.

Dear Mr. President:

My name is Ken, 68 years of age and have Parkinson’s for the last nine years and continue to slowly deteriorate. Currently I am the CEO of the National Institute of Community Management which services Home Owners Associations (HOA’s) nationwide. (300,000 associations inhabited by 33,000,000 individuals).

Before you make your final decision on the Veto of the latest “Stem Cell” Bill that has been approved by Congress, I would like you to take into consideration the Following:

Your belief, if I understand it correctly, is that you are “Pro-Life”. If you take that term independently of everything else, I do not think you will find one American who will not agree with you. To disagree they would be saying that they are “Pro Death”. I doubt that you will find one that disagrees with you.

The real question is on the “Stem Cell” issue, are you willing to “Transfer” one Life, the “Stem Cell”, to save another life, my Life.

There are many instances where people will sacrifice their life to save another. If fact you are the world’s leader in approving such a “Transfer” of sacrificing one individual’s life to save many.

You have taken the same stance as what this county was founded upon, to sacrifice ones” life for freedom. But it’s not only Freedom; it’s to save lives of those already here. We will never forget 9/11.

In turn you have authorized troops to go to foreign shores to protect the living at home. Many of those troops will die in order for us to live. (Over 2,500 in IRAQ).

If we took the meaning of “Pro Life” as you may be using to stop the “Stem Cell” law, would you not have to apply that same meaning to call all of our Troops home from IRAQ?

I am not suggesting that you do that. But I am asking you to continue on in following your philosophy, signing the “Stem Cell” bill that will not only save thousands of lives, but millions of American lives. Transfer one life to another.

Ate what God intended

Dear Mr. Bush:

Thank you so much for veto on the Stem Cell Research bill. Even though NBC News stated that the polls said that people were in favor of Stem Cell research. I do NOT believe the polls. It would be like playing God, and that we should NOT even attempt to do.

I would highly recommend that the scientists who are so upset about not being able to use Stem Cells, start reseaching what CAUSES these diseases which did not exist a decade ago. Could it be all the chemicals the manufacuturers of the food industry put in food to give it a longer shelf life? We know that food industry puts in all kinds of substances in food for longer shelf life, thereby increasing their profit. Are these same chemicals causing all kinds of disease?

In the Bible you hear nothing of the types of diseases that we have now days. Was it because people only ate what God intended, foods in their God created state, not preserved for longer shelf life and bigger profits.

My vote will go to the person who clamps down on the food industry by putting stricter controls on what can put into food to give it that longer shelf life.

In the book, "Fast Food Nation" many facts are presented concerning how food gets to market. This book is only one of hundreds now on the market which addresses what manufacturers put into foods. When is someone going to take the big step and finance research into what all these chemicals can cause? Yes, the drug companies and food manufacturers may loose some money, but I'll just bet our nations health would improve tremendously.

But then again, sometimes I think it is all about who is in whose pocketbook. Who makes the most money wins. Which is really sad because I truly believe it is NOT all about money. It is about living a wonderful life in the beautiful county that God gave us. Are we destroying that gift in the name of profit? Perhaps, God please help us.

Why does Cleveland have to pay?

Tell me why you have to come to Cleveland to explain your actions in Iraq? Why does Cleveland have to pay for your security when the school system is failing and we don’t have enough police or firefights? We don’t need to hear you in person, to explain why your administration is doing all it can to make Americans look like bullies and faith based fanatics (Christian) against other faith-based fanatics.

How about you stay in Washington D.C. and try to curb the damage you have done to thousands of families here and overseas. Visiting American cities to justify the course you have taken should not cost those cities that are struggling to make ends meet.

I strongly oppose this war, as it is a definite offense against the fifth commandment: Thou shalt not kill. There should be National Day of Mourning on March 19th to ask God to forgive all of the destruction: the people of Iraq, the destruction of Iraq, the thousands of soldiers who are permanently disabled and the thousands dead.

US Port Security and Transfer (Part III)

Editor's Note: The flood of letters regarding the potential transfer of six US ports from a London-based company to a Dubai-based company has continued to grow. It also appears that many people were unaware that these ports were foreign-owned before this deal. In the history of this website, there has never been a time when all sides of the political aisle have been so overwhelmingly in agreement on any issue. This issue appears to have struck at the core of President Bush's support and angered long-time supporters, who view his tough stance and words against terrorism undermined by this deal. The president has threatened a veto of any congressional action to stop this deal, and it will be interesting to see how congress reacts to what the overwhelming criticism of this proposed deal in an election year.

I am appalled at the sale of 6 of our MAJOR ports to the United Arab Emirates! Are you saying to the American people that America is for sale to the highest bidder????

In a speech you gave to the American people on September 2, 2004 at the Republican National Convention in Madison Square Gardens, you said, "I believe the most solemn duty of the American President is to protect the American people. If America shows uncertainty or weakness in this decade, the world will drift toward tragedy. This will not happen on my watch." I am republican, and I supported you through the debates and through all the trials the media was saying about you. And after saying we are safe with you as president, I felt relieved. However, now with the possible sale of our ports, you are vowing to VETO any legislation that would block this sale. I don't know about everyone, else, but that doesn't make me feel good.

You stood with people in NYC and rescue workers telling them you would do whatever it takes to defend our country. Can you look at them and all the people who lost someone that tragic day in September that this is safe? That the intelligence of America is SO great, you would be able to foresee a threat? If that is so, why did September 11 happen?

"Do I forget the lessons of September the 11th and take the word of a madman, or do I take action to defend our country? Faced with that choice, I will defend America every time. " If in fact, you choose to defend America every time, this port issue will be laid to rest. You are giving control to a country that has allowed the terrorists to use to get to us. More and more every day I regret voting for you. You have the great presidents such as Reagan, rolling over in their graves. Please consider the fact that I too love the United States of America and that after Bin Laden declared war on the United States in the early 1990’s I also laughed. But all know what then occurred when the radical Islamists became patient enough, or so it appears, to hurt our great country. Manchurian Candidate

Well, I admit I am a Democrat, but I am not a fool. I just wanted you to know that the idea or license to listen in on our phones, etc. comes with my full approval.

I have nothing to hide, and know you would not object to my political opinions on the war especially since I am 79 years old and simply too aged to do any damage to anyone. In fact, I have never approved of violence of any kind.

I’m outraged by the idea that your administration treats the American public like a group of idiots; your State of the Union address on 31 Jan 06 was a testament to this attitude.

“America is addicted to oil,” you say. The Republican Party and “Big Business” are addicted to oil - I say. So do something about it, other than using it as a platform to secure a position for the next Republican candidate to vie for office.

The fact that you used the words of a patriot, Staff Sergeant Clay, to further your own political ends, is disgusting. Homeless from Katrina

My family has been left homeless from Katrina. We moved from New Orleans to Georgia. I desperately want to be close to my family that is all split-up right now. FEMA is calling me ineligible for housing assistance because I had “some” insurance. I had very little. My family needs housing assistance. We received it for 3 months and now that I have signed a lease, FEMA is denying me assistance.

We will never be able to get back “home” without any more assistance to carry us over until things in New Orleans improve, including the levees. Please help us or tell me what to do?

My wife and are victims of Hurricane Katrina and formerly lived in the Lakeview area of New Orleans. Immediately after the storm, you made promises to help rebuild New Orleans. But just a few short months after the storm, we no longer sense that your promises will be fulfilled. Have you already forgotten about those promises?

Maybe the United States does not really want to rebuild the great city of New Orleans. If so, please tell us that that is the case. Don’t just let us wondering if we will ever be able to live in our neighborhood once again. We are currently living on the North side of Lake Pontchartrain. Although my wife is working, I no longer have a job. I was a pharmacy director at a large hospital in New Orleans that has since closed its doors. The job situation for all hospital workers in the area is rather bleak and there do not exist many choices.

Will this be the death of a great American City as stated in an editorial by the New York Times?

Mr. President,

I am a former member of the United States Army, a service I was proud to perform for America. I remember all the different times we had classes, both in Basic and in permanent units, on the Geneva Convention and proper treatment of prisoners. For all that I didn’t like classes that much, I felt a sense of pride when we conducted these classes because they told us we had not only one of the best equipment and training in the world, we had the best moral bedrock for our actions.

Now, Mr. President, I’m no longer certain of that. I tend to take most media with a large grain of salt but at a certain point it’s impossible to ignore what’s going on. I read the words of your staff and they’re tap-dancing around the truth. I read your directives and they say to ignore laws and principles that have set us apart as a nation for decades. The Patriot Act is being abused every day but no one speaks up. The CIA takes people into custody and whisks them away to foreign soil so they can take advantage of a loophole to use reprehensible means to get questionable data.

Mr. President, I am a loyal American. I love my country and know how fortunate I am to have been born here. I want to keep that feeling of pride, of almost divine favor in being American. Don’t let us descend to the level of those who attack us. Don’t make us like them. Rule of Law is better than absolutism. Keep us better.

I am so proud of my daughter who turned three this past September! She is my everything and with you serving as our president I feel secure in my daughter’s safety! On this Thanksgiving Day, as our courageous troops are stretched thin,
protecting other countries and bringing them the “freedom” which we

under the burden of illegal immigration.......... we ALL have one thing in

Thank God you can not run again.

As as American who loves this country, I pray that God will give all of us
the wisdom to abandon the two political parties that have abandoned us and
destroyed this country and to vote Third Party. May God bless the

Be thankful

On this Thanksgiving Day I will not criticize but be thankful for
having such a great president as yourself and for your doing your best as
our president. I am currently a teacher experiencing classroom management
problems and don’t know if I can continue to work in the current
district I work in. However that will not keep me from loving the education
field and trying to better myself.

I am also a sergeant in the Air Force Reserve who has an idea
possibly that might somehow capture or hinder the terrorist network that we
need so much to stop. I am suggesting, Mr. President that we volunteer to
help more with the Pakistan earthquake effort. As an air transportation
sergeant I am willing to volunteer anytime to try to help in that relief
effort. It would send goodwill to that country and in the meantime possibly
bring a concentrated effort against possible terrorists in the area.

However, I just can not understand why we are messing with Israel, by helping the Arab terrorists. Why are you for taking land from the GOOD GUYS and giving it to the “bad guys”?

This is so against the very war we are fighting. Israel deserves better, it needs our help to keep what they have and to gain more.

I think you need to sit back in the stands for a few days, it’s so much easier to see what’s happening in the game when you’re in the stands than when you’re on the court playing. Know what I mean?

Mistreating His animals

Mother of a Sex Offender

Dear George:

I am a mother of a sex offender, at least that is what they are calling it. My son did not rape, abuse, or force anyone. He had sex with a minor, who also wanted sex with him. I am not an educated female, but I do know the difference between forcing someone and consenting.

I DO Not Condone what my son did, it was wrong and he should be punished. My problem is this: he was sentenced to 30 yrs. to a violent prison. On his court papers it says it was a non-violent crime. So why is he in a violent prison? No one will give me the time of day. Also he has to register as a SO.

I know there are men and women who are out there that abuse children sexually, I agree they need to be punished, but not all sexual abusers as they are called ABUSE. Can’t you try and change the laws for unforced sex. Not all of them need to be put away for 30 yrs. and then have to register for the rest of their lives. My God, murderers get off less time than that.

You probably won’t even read this, but if you do, please help my son. All I want is for him to get out of where he is to a non-violent place, I would be satisfied with that. Also if they could reduce his sentence to 10 yrs.

I have been watching the papers, listening to the radio, and the news on TV, no one is being sentenced like my son has.

I would like to be alive when my son gets out.

What in the good Lord’s name is happening that sex offenders are released? Our children are being killed, suffering and we are more concerned with the rights of the ones that do these horrid acts? I have been hounded by the IRS for the past 10 years to the point of suicide, and I owed the government nothing”...police were called to my home because I could not continue to live with the harassment and threats...but individuals that kill our children can come up with “money: they get out and kill again and again...

Dear president....you are wonderful and I adore your stand...stop those that hurt and kill our citizens and listen to citizens instead of trying to prosecute them to the point of them wanting to take their lives.

If I had taken my life based on the harassment from the IRS what would that have gained?

I am a senior at East Ridge High School in Clermont, Florida. I am apart of the minority who still support you through and through. I pray for you and your administration daily. I don’t know if you got my letter I sent you a few weeks ago but it was about someone who looked up to you and supported you so much that he gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. His name was Joshua and he died in Iraq on August 15, 2005. I know you cant predict the future anymore than I can change the past. But I thought that you would want to know that there are some young impressionable teenage boys and girls like Joshua who were willing to follow you and die for our country.

I had a history teacher in Georgia last year his name was Coach Boyd. He was an active duty marine and probably the best teacher I have ever had. He had a Bush-Cheney poster up on top of the classroom. And one of my favorite mottos that he wrote in my yearbook was...”what you do for others dies when you die and what you do for others lives forever! SIMPER FI!” That was the motto Josh lived by and served by under you.

Veterans Day

Dear Mr. President:

Happy (belated) Veteran’s Day.

On Veteran's Day we gather (mentally, at least) to honor those among us who served in defense of our country. But in a larger sense, our thoughts and words provide faint honor; the brave men, living and dead, who fought on behalf of our country have honored themselves far beyond our poor power to add or detract.

History shows that some wars are more noble than others. This fact is generally lost upon those fighting; their job is not to question the nobility of the cause but rather to do their duty. The fundamental nobility of the cause does nothing to add or detract from the nobility of the duty done and the sacrifices made by our soldiers. It is that duty and those sacrifices we honor today.

Rather it is for the rest of us and for the historians to question the nobility of the cause for which we have sent our young people off to fight and die. After all, they are fighting for us, in our name, for our country. In that sense we, all of us, have sent them off to fight and die.

The fact that our involvement in Viet Nam was immoral and in retrospect a colossal blunder both politically and militarily in no way devalues the service of those who fought and died there. Those soldiers were simply doing their job. The fundamental immorality of the cause however puts their deaths on the conscience of all of us (or at least those of us with a conscience).

In like manner, history will show that our involvement in Iraq was based a preconceived plot hatched among the neocons in the White House, few of whom had actually served in the military themselves. It was a preconceived war looking for a cause, and though 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq, it provided the people in the White House with the cause they needed. Through trumped up “intelligence” the Bush team justified going to war; who cares who else believed the incorrect justification for going into Iraq, the blood is on their hands too. The bottom line is that the plot was hatched inside the White House.

Now 2065 of our young men and women have died over there, more die each week. Over 15,000 have been permanently disabled in the war. The result of the war thus far leads to the inevitable conclusion that the world is far less safe as a result of the operation.

This is in no way to devalue the duty and sacrifice of our young people fighting in Iraq, we should honor them, and we must.
But by simply mouthing empty words in praise of those fighting for us and waving our flags harder without understanding for whom they are fighting and why, we don’t honor them, we dishonor them. They fight for us, they fight in our name, and they fight for our country.

The light of history will show that the war in Iraq was begun on false pretenses and was therefore fundamentally immoral. We will be forced to acknowledge that the blood of the dead is on the hands of those in the White House who hatched the plan and who sold it to their countrymen as a response to 9/11.

By denying ourselves this fundamental truth we must acknowledge that we’re at fault too. Our freedoms extend...they MUST extend...to the right, duty and obligation of the citizens to hold accountable those who wage an immoral war in our names.

These are our soldiers, living and dead. They fought for us. As our soldiers their blood is on our hands, their deaths and injuries on our conscience, all of us. Can you look yourself in the mirror and be certain that you have done right by them? Should they expect any less?

I remember the day he left Miami to go to Canada -- Please do not make a mistake like this anymore -- it is as if Saddam was dying of cancer and you pin a medal on him.

I still support you, but am so disappointed with some members in your house. Please rearrange and get rid of your bad apples for they are starting to spoil all of you. Your ratings have gone done significantly, some say you cannot come back up. I believe that you can and will.

First off-admit you had to do some cleaning within that house. replace with men of integrity. Believe me, you will gain more respect by admitting to not always being right and that you were strong enough to rearrange regardless of feelings of those close to you.

Second-you need to devise a better plan for Iraq. I hate being there now but I am not leaving you left burning at the stake alone. we were all in it together and all of those in the house that said yes are now backing down like a bunch of wimps as they are, they have disappointed me so much.

Thirdly, if Delay is indeed guilty, don't coddle him, he needs to step down and not serve as he is. Same as Frist, Same as Rove if he is guilty.

Please have some backbone and do it!

1. Do not pardon Mr. Libby.
2. Fire Karl Rove.
3. Set a reasonable timeline for our withdrawal from Iraq.
4. Capature Osama Bin Laden. Ask the Bin Ladens. You know them well.
5. Quit saying “freedom.” You don’t the first thing about it.
6. Reconcile the divergent stated reasons why you nominated Ms. Miers and Mr. Alito to the Court.
7. Fire Rumsfeld and Cheney. They like to torture people. Rumsfeld even went as far as to write it down with (paraphrasing) “why are these people made to stand only 4 fours at a time? I stand at my standing desk 10 hours a day,” etc.
8. Fire Gonzales. He thinks it is somehow rational to question the definitions of torture vis a vis the Geneva Convention.
9. Figure out your poll numbers are as low as Nixon’s during Watergate and rectify.
10. Learn how orate. It is essential to the job of Leader of the Free World. You cannot do it well, or even passably.
11. Think for yourself as our leader; don’t delegate so much. We didn’t vote in a committee to lead.
12. Go to at least one funeral for a fallen soldier in Iraq.
13. Just... try to do better. I get the sense you aren’t trying very hard.

Actions speak louder than words. Which is why I don’t understand how anyone but selfish, rich white people can say they support you. After all, they are the only ones who benefit from this administration.

You consistently ignore the needy--including the elderly and the children. You threaten and intimidate those who dare question your statements and ideas, rather than encouraging an honest debate of the issues (although that’s understandable--sad and pathetic, but understandable--considering how awful you are at extemporaneous speaking).

You lied to the world and to the citizens of this country in order to get us into war for a selfish reason, which even your own father knew better than to do. You ignored the environment, health care, and education by saying one thing and doing another, knowing all the while that so many Americans will believe what they hear rather than think for themselves. Yet you and your cronies (several of which are under indictment for various crimes) are perfectly willing to try to impeach Clinton for lying about an affair. To put it into perspective--which one’s lie resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans for several years with no end in sight?

I also don’t know how you can call yourself a Christian, since I’m sure Jesus Himself would be ashamed at what you’ve said and done in His name. True Christianity says “judge not, lest ye be judged”, yet you send people to their death with a smile on your face and a joke on your lips--both as governor of Texas and president of the United States. You show no tolerance for the poor, or even the middle class, let alone for anyone who doesn’t share your ultra-conservative views.

Dear President Bush,

I am proud to call you my President. I support your choice to send troops to Iraq and to areas where freedom is scarce or non existent. My heart breaks for the troops we have lost to this war, but I believe we are doing the right thing because there are terrorists out there that hate us because they don’t like the way we live or the freedoms that we enjoy. How do you fight that logic? How do you reason with people like that? The frightening thought is that it is probably only a matter of time before we have another 9/11 episode. We have to protect our boarders and our airports, and still people are complaining about being detained and searched. Some are even taking the matter to court because we are violating their civil liberties. I suppose they would rather be blown to high heaven than to submit to a search that would ultimately keep them safe.

I am sick of hearing our own congressmen, senators, legislators, in addition to our so-called Hollywood “authorities,” speak so hatefully about you, my President. Their voices quiver with hatred. Never before, have I ever felt our own freedom jeopardized by our own outspoken critics. Yes, I believe in freedom of speech. Yes, I believe that we all have the right to form our own opinions. However, I hear lies being repeated. Day after day on the radio and in newspapers. It’s almost like a form of mass hysteria: “President Bush LIED about weapons of mass destruction. He LIED about why we invaded Iraq. He LIED about this ... he LIED about that.” LIBERALS WILL NOT ‘LISTEN’ to the facts. They invent their own version and after a while, it becomes their truth.

WE MUST REMEMBER, THAT WITH FREEDOM COMES RESPONSIBILITY. We are becoming our own worst enemies because we are giving the enemies ammunition to destroy our credibility amongst our allies and to feed their hatred for us. I believe we can keep our freedom and still voice our concerns about government policies. We are, after all, Americans. Let us not forget to act like Americans!

Thank you for hard work and determination during these last 4 trying years. To sum it all up it in one sentence that is an open ended question that LIBERALS don't want to face or remember.

Why has the mainstream media decided not to show clips from 9/11 anymore? They can bitch all they want about Fox News but the truth is that Fox at their best get 2-3 million viewers a night vs. the big 3 (CNN is irrelevant any more) they get avg. of 22-23 million.

Why during this war on terror does the media push us away from it when it is the central focus of everything we are involved in.

Thank god for the new media and new ideas of the Republican Party.

p.s. As I stare down at my paycheck today and see the $68 taken out every week for social security. Thank you for trying to make sure that money will be there when I retire. I have heard that you want to cut out social security, that’s not the right thing to do. I draw disability. I have fibromyalgia and restless syndrome and some other health problems that keep me from working, I’m not one to take advantage of it, and I only get $599.00 a month and $23.00 in food stamps. Have you ever tried to live on $23.00 a month, I live in government housing, I’m not married and never will be. People are crazy out in this world, I stat to my self. It’s just me and my cocker spaniel he is my companion. I have been married twice.

It took 2 years to get my disability and my apartment I had to live where ever. Thank god I have a stable place. I can’t stand on my legs for a long length of time. It seems to all be in my back and legs and now it’s moving down in my right arm. It’s severe pain. Have you ever tried living on $599.00 a month? Please help people like me. I can’t sit at my computer for a long length of time, my back and my neck goes to hurting. This is supposed to be the richest country in the world, but as it’s starting to look it’s the poorest. Our government doesn’t help the homeless, and I know how that feels.

Please help getting our troops home - they were fighting before our troops ever went over there, that’s all them people know, I think they believe in another god. Not the one we worship over in the states here. There are too many people dying these days. I am Baptist, and if wasn’t for God I wouldn’t be where I’m at now. I pray everyday and every night, thank God he grants my prayers.

I understand that you got the Popular, and Electoral votes, but it doesn't mean that the Democrats don't count as well. Only 17% of the people between ages 18-29 voted this year, so if these individuals voted, you might not have won today. I really urge you to make you decisions, not according to what you think is right, but according to what the country wants. Our country used to be respected by other countries, maybe even loved when Kennedy served as president, but do you see what is happening now? We need good foreign relationships if we don't want terrorism. I also want to bring up the subject of abortion. This may not be true, but I think that it is because of your religion that you are choosing to not have abortion. You can argue that you are killing a partial life, aren't you also doing the same in war? Also, if a incapable individual/family is taking care of a child, we don't know what is going to happen to that child. Most children who are not loved turn to a life of crime because they don't have any support. Would you want this to happen? They have already taken over Los Angeles, Part of Florida, New York, New Jersey and everywhere they go. Here in Alabama we hardly saw a Hispanic. Even though Puerto Ricans are Hispanic, they are U.S. citizens.

Alabama has been invaded by ilegal aliens; mostly Mexicans and you can tell what they are by the clothes, mannerism, speech and actions. You can also see the bandanas they wear on their heads or sticking out of their rear pockets. Now they have huge demonstrations demanding equality, demanding that the California Governor be ousted. They continue to criticize you and the American people. How much more are we going to take? Why can't the police clean up all this trash? I don't know how much we can take until we start doing something ourselves.

Today I happened to listen to the Spanish television station Telemundo. The talk show Rocio was on and they were critizicing the U.S. again due to the American people being rude, mean, hateful, racist and everything else. The Mexican people still insist they have the right to enter this country and do what ever they want here. We are constantly seeing more gangs, robberies, drugs, and everything else being brought in by these illegal aliens. On this talk show today, one of their guests called President George W. Bush a traitor, however, he's working in the U.S. and making American dollars just like the show hostess. I emailed them a piece of my mind.

I voted for both Bushs, father and son. Now I am beginning to regret having voted for George W for a second time. On the news today he stated: "I know you are concerned about the gas prices, so am I". He has nothing to worry about gas, since his vehicles get the gas from the government and he' s not paying for it. Besides, he has money and can afford it. As of next week, I won't be able to go anywhere since I can't continue paying these outrageous gas prices. This is ridiculous. We spend billions in sending ships and people to space, helping other countries, feeding other countries and yet, our own children are starving, living on the streets, and now the gas situations. How much more are we to support?

I have a 73 year old friend and he's retired military. He uses oxygen for his pulmonary disease, but he and his wife spent two weeks on the border, on their own time and money, to try to stem the flow of your "amigos", Jorge. Doesn't that make you proud as spiked punch?

I've tried every organization out there. They pass along, don't help her, she will report, the wrongful things ie; children smoking at the LA Family housing shelter, Adults, drinking beer and smoking marijuana, at the Voyager Inn hotel.

No one will rent to me because I have too many children? I can't continue to live like this. I got on Cal-works, thinking it would help. I was informed there is no more emergency section-8.

My first grader is not in school, because a male, teacher's aide, pulled her arm, shoved her head on the desk and pulled her hair, all under the watchful eye of her teacher?

I wanted the aide, arrested, nothing was done, with the exception, I was banned from the school?

I also want you to know that the decision to send our boys off to war was a hard one. But I love my freedom and I don’t want to worry that what happened in New York will happen again. Did you ever study economics while getting your MBA? My daughter is an MBA but cannot find a job after being laid off in April. She is also suffering from complications from an ectopic pregnancy. Her husband was laid off last week, because his sales job was outsourced. They now have no health insurance, and she may need surgery in the coming months.

How can I sit here and watch the news with my seven year old girl and see nothing being done to help out the people in New Orleans? How can I tell her that isn’t Ethiopia, it’s America. Yes, America, watching daily the children, elderly, sick, hungry, hurt people wait on help. If Texas can open the Astrodome for them, why can’t Fort Wayne open the Coliseum, and Indy their stadiums for these fellow Americans who have no job, no car, no home, no food, no toilet paper for goodness sake. Women sitting bouncing their babies while they watch their child starve to death. What is the matter with the other states opening their hearts to help people. What if your daughters were stuck their with your grandchildren suffering day and night? Please help these people, let them stay in hotels, stadiums, etc. Get them out of there.

I usually keep my opinions to myself but at this time, I can not help but speak my mind. I was watching the news this morning, as I do every morning. This morning on the NBC Today show, Hillary Clinton was being interviewed. She is claiming that ‘we’ need to investigate the reasons why help was not brought to the people of New Orleans and Mississippi quickly enough. The thing I agree with is that this has been a horrific event in our nation’s history, a terrible natural disaster. I can not help but cry and pray for those people touched by this disaster.

But when Hillary, and others, speak of gathering a committee to find out why all of this has happened, it burns me up. If the people allow this to happen, it just shows ignorance and stupidity. Instead of her and others spending any of their energy standing there and asking why, they should, we all should, be using every ounce of our energy helping these people get shelter, food, medical and emotional support. The money that would be spent investigating why things happen is a total and outright waste, whether it is done now or later. It is going to take a lot of time (years) and a lot of our countries resources to rebuild lives for all of these individuals who have lost everything they had.

Shouldn’t we all be focusing on that and not what should have been? If anything, we have already heard of scams being started where monies are being taken from good hearted people trying to help by donating whatever they can, and it being lost to thieves. If Hillary and others want to help out and they feel that running investigations is a way to do so, then this is what they should do. They should make sure that every organization out there claiming to be gathering money for this disaster is legitimate. And that every cent of the donations received goes to these people and the communities and nothing else. It would be absolutely sinful if any of this support is being spent in any other way than helping these states and people rebuild their lives.

As I have already said, it is in the best interest of everyone to use all of our energy to help not to lay blame. To assure that every one has food, medicine, housing, and jobs. This should be our country’s only objective. Then when we have put all of these people’s lives back together as best we possibly can, then we can make plans to see that we are better prepared for this and other disasters that may occur. Always look to the future; not dwell on the past. Stop wasting the peoples’ money, energy, and time.

What a huge title to carry. You Mr. President have carried it with honor. I have campaigned and voted for you the past two elections. And would continue that effort if there were a third term. I have watched you make very difficult decision with support and without support and you handled it like a true hero. You may say this is a little personal for me do to the similarities of you and my father. Very straight-forward honest and strong. Some folks think those are small unimportant words, but obviously you do not. I know you have taken personal criticism concerning the War in Irac and the most recent disaster in Louisiana. As far as the War goes I hated to see it come to that but we had no choice.

It was amazing how quickly after you first speech Friday the 2nd in the AM that “this was not acceptable” things started to roll. I know you have tons of help and people to direct in order for these things to happen. But, that’s why you are our leader. I have a 22 year old Daughter Amanda whom is very political and is very proud also to have you as our leader. My family is no one important we live in a small town, Texarkana, Arkansas, we work very hard, my husband works at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company for 18 years and I work at a Credit Union for a total of 17 years. My daughter is a LPN and is going back to receive her RN license. Keep up the difficult task of running to strong nation under God and we will continue to be strong.

Where the hell is our government?

Hi! My name is Shelley Cole and I am a 44 year old, white American female who lives in Jackson, NJ and was always proud to be an American. Well, proud until today that is.

I have never in my entire life written a letter to a government official before. I’m sure you are bogged down by the amount of mail you must be receiving due to the recent hurricane tragedy which hit and trashed our southern states... and they ARE just that, states. (States of a nation...ONE nation....UNITED...under God...indivisible... with liberty and justice for ALL!) I think that our government needs to go back to school and relearn the basic ingredients in the glue which holds this country together.

Tonight, I came home from work and sat at my computer, skimming through news articles and video taped footage and updates on the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Instead of feeling proud of my country at their quick response in this tragic situation...I was appalled and left feeling helpless, saddened and yes, even embarrassed by what I saw.

The day after the hurricane hit, I was upset that so many people did not heed their government’s warnings and evacuate to higher ground. I blamed them for hindering our rescue efforts... if only they would have listened, we wouldn’t have had to spend so much time and money into the rescue mission and could start cleaning up the city. That was yesterday....today my thoughts have done an about face! The thoughts that keep running through my mind over and over again are... where the hell is our government?? How come we are not helping these people? How come we are not sending troops to help aid our country... our own homeland?? I was not only appalled by what I saw but embarrassed for my country as well.

The videos I saw were not all of the people who needed to be rescued from roof tops but people who trusted in their government. People who did everything they were told to do in exchange for a promise of food, shelter, and water. They trusted in their government... but their government let them down, and now all they see is hunger, thirst, disease and death all around them! This is sad... so, so sad. In a country that is the richest and strongest in the world, we appear to others to be the poorest and weakest.

No doubt, we are in for a long haul, and many years of rebuilding in an area that was populated by some of the poorest people of our nation. But let us not forget that they are U.S. citizens and are entitled to the same rights as everyone else. If we do not get some major relief soon to those people... my fear is that a lot of your hard work will just go out the window. The death toll will rise drastically and we will see racial issues come back into play as well as anger about giving aid to other countries when we can’t even provide aid to ourselves. I, for one will think twice or more about giving any aid to another country. I know I will not be alone in my feelings either. Thousands of people across the country are thinking the same as I right now, the only difference is that I’ve taken the time out to write this letter to you. It’s written from the heart and as the voices of thousands of American refugees, who need your help ASAP.

In closing...one final thought. A question that was posed to me and also the sentiments of several others...if this same exact tragedy had happened in an upper-middle class white area of the country...would it still have taken so long to get aid to the area??? I like to think not.

For instance, fill air force one with bottled water and fly to New Orleans? And when you get there start filling sandbags? Please do something for god’s sake if not for the people of New Orleans' sake. People are dying from dehydration and you are eating lunch with Al? Yesterday you were playing the guitar in Colorado? Vested interest

I have a vested interest in the war of Iraq. That being someone very close to me and dear to my heart. I was very angry with Mr. Rumsfeld when he made the statement "You go to war with what you have, not with what you want". Has this man ever served in theater anywhere when mortars and IED'S were going off in his face? At no time should our country be left "with what they have" to fight a war. The very security of our great country lies in the defense of our country. Bottom line, if you do not have a very strong military might and the very best of equipment, you are looking at the looming demise of our nation.

At NO time should our brave men and women be sent to war "with what they have". That is totally inexcusable to me. Now I do understand that many Humvees have been updated, but I still do not know why there are not devices that can capture the frequencies that detonates the IEDS. There have been too many of our soldiers killed and maimed because of these horrible bombs.

Surely there is some technology that can be used to stop this way of harming our soldiers. I have e-mailed you before, Mr. President, with no reply, but I know you are very busy with important matters. I want you to know that I am praying for you,our wonderful country and our men and women in uniform wherever they may be. Just please dedicate as much time and money to the support of our defense as you possibly can as all of our lives depend upon it.

I was so disappointed for you when you were re-elected. Had you lost, I knew that, as a real he-man and a tough talker, you'd have grabbed the opportunity to join those other fellows in their fifties whose National Guard units have been sent to Iraq, and finish up your obligation. That would shut down those skeptics who questioned your commitment to our national security. You'd love Iraq from the perspective of an unarmored hum-vee, with antiquated body armor. The resulting photo-ops would make Kerry's exploits look even more lame. You'd mow down insurgents just like you chop cedar over there in Crawford.

Like you said: "I didn't ask for special treatment!" We understand that, as your daddy's dutiful boy, you had to accept that Guard assignment. So, tough luck about the election, but you could still resign and rejoin. God is on your side so, "Bring 'em on," right?

War in Iraq is necessary

Dear Mr. President:

I am writing to tell you how much I support your efforts in Iraq and the "War on Terror". Honestly, during your first term, I did not support you or the war, but as I did some research I realized that the war in Iraq is necessary, wmd's or not.

Many people are avidly against the war, saying it's costing all our soldiers lives, we're slaughtering innocent Iraqis, blah blah blah... you get the idea. In my mind, this comes from a simple lack of information, stupidity, or "doctoring", which I will explain later.

I know many soldiers, some of which just returned from Iraq, one with a bronze star. I know that war has an effect on people, and I have been looking for different videos of the warfare in Iraq, trying to understand what these men and women have been through
.
Some of these videos that I found were doctored by biased sources, so that they would look like a war crime or something of the sort. One was a night-vision view from a helicopter, killing several supposedly innocent Iraqis. Being as objective in my research as I can be, I looked for other copies of this video, and sure enough, in the uncut version you see that the Iraqis were moving weapons! Naturally, this piqued my interest and I began searching for other videos, eventually finding one video that will remain in my mind forever.

It was a compilation put together by either a terrorist, or someone who sympathizes with the insurgents. It was mostly of Arabic videos of the insurgents attacking American soldiers, but what was most disturbing was the footage of how dead soldiers were treated as trophies: severed arms were held up with pride, burned bodies were dragged behind cars and strung up from bridges, a soldier's armor was held up with a shout.

Much of this video was also of executions. I had to fast forward through most of it. It showed the so-called "innocent Iraqis" that we're fighting sawing the heads off of several different people, mostly Americans. In every case the head was held up like a prize.

The people protesting this war need to realize that it is a war IN Iraq, not a war WITH Iraq. We are not killing the Iraqi people, we are liberating them from the monsters that tie them up and brutally murder them. Who cares about weapons of mass destruction. We had to be in the country to know they weren't there anyway! We have a much higher calling in Iraq now; we aren't simply defending ourselves, we are saving a people. What higher calling is there?
In reference to your faith and the war, it is often quoted "Thou shalt not kill" and "love thy neighbor". Immediately following the quote is "how can you be doing that in Iraq?" Quoting "Thou shalt not kill" is obviously from a lack of any real spiritual or theological background, but as for "love thy neighbor", I think you are carrying that out by helping set the Iraqi people free from these monsters. Dear George:

I think you have bought in to your own party-line so much that you don't even stop to think how it's landing on the people who hear it. Last night, I knew what you were going to say - before you even said it, not because I'm psychic - but because you have been saying the same cotton-picking thing for four years now.

a. There will be dark days ahead
b. We are working hard
c. The terrorists are murderers. We fight them over there so wewon't have to fight them here.
d. We are making progress
e. The brave troops are spreading democracy, but the terroristsdon't want that.
f. We must complete the mission

But here's where it is not adding up: I'm no big fan of Saddam, but of what threat to us was he? At the point where we invaded his country, Saddam resembled a toothless lion. The threat as I understood it (and still do) was OBL. And, if you were trying to avoid war, what was Haliburton doing building bases in Iraq six months before the war even started?

Last night you said that military service was the highest calling a young person could aspire to. Okay, when are your daughters going to join up. Jessica Lynch and Lori Piestewa did, do they believe in spreading democracy more than Jenna and Barbara?

Do you actually listen to Rumsfeld? For instance, "You go to war with what you have, not what you want." First of all, we are talking about the AMERICAN Army. It's not like we're a third world country with limited resources. Second of all, we attacked them, not the other way around. So Mr. President, what would have been so bad about giving the UN Inspectors another month of two to do their work while we gathered materials for our troops? Isn't that the way to "support the troops" I imagine that would have meant more to them than a lot of patriotic hoo-hah.

Here's another one, "You can't know everything before you go to war." Now there's a confidence builder, the SECRETARY OF DEFENSE saying he doesn't know everything he possibly could before he goes to war, makes me wonder what else he don't know, and why he isn't trying to find out!

In this situation, I have some room to talk because I was actually in the Army. I joined in January of 73, by May of 73 I was trained and at my post. So, do you get my drift? If we can train me and THOUSANDS like me, in four and a half months, what's taking so doggone long to train the Iraqi's? It is their country, do you realize that? You are President of the United States, not Iraq!

And forgive me, but I don't believe you about the so- called "insurgents" either. When I look at it objectively, I have to ask myself why a Democratic Iraq would threaten anybody in the Middle East. Turkey doesn't. So I have to ask myself, if spreading democracy is not what these people are attacking us for, then what is their problem? Well, could it be they're ordinary citizens, who don't want us western devils in their country? I think so; and pardon me, but if I'm not wanted somewhere I usually take my happy butt out of there.

Now, I can just hear your wheels turning, "but that would create a civil war." True, but maybe you should have thought of that before you interferred; and second - how are you going to stop it? We can't stay there forever. If the Iraqi people don't want democracy, if they want to go back to a dictatorship, it is kind of their choice.

You and Cheney both have said this is not about oil, and Haliburton, and paying back campaign contributors. Sorry Charlie, but I don't believe you, and I'm glad your poll numbers are slipping, because what that tells me is that when you and Cheney start yelling, "the sky is falling, the terrorists are coming" maybe people are waking up and hearing OBL laughing at us; because every time you talk about him being able to run but not hide, he must laugh himself to death. And with our National Guard and Reserves, not to mention financial resources, going to protect us from a toothless lion, he's got a clear shot - thanks to you "Mr. President".
